About Us

Cecilia Music exists to promote the performance of live classical music in the Cambridgeshire area. Our first venture was a performance in November 2009 in Cambridge, exploring the musical world of Samuel Pepys.

Throughout the summer months Cecilia MusicĀ  promotes intimate chamber music concerts in Cambridge's oldest and most historic building, St Bene't's church. More information about these concerts can be found in the Concerts pages, and some reactions to them can be found by clicking here.

Most of the concerts are given by our core performers, Maria Sanger & Peter Wells (recorders), with David Wright (harpsichord/organ) and/or Mary Pells (viola da gamba/baroque cello), although we also draw on other fine musicians as the circumstances and programmes require. Details about our regular performers can be found here.

Our performance intention is to present music, usually of the 17th and 18th centuries, as accessibly as possible. Our concerts tend to be about one hour long and are timed to allow the audience to also experience the delights of the beautiful city of Cambridge, and its many hospitality and dining options.

Please continue to visit ourĀ Concerts pages regularly for updated information.
